What is Ayurveda?

Ayurveda is the ancient science of life and natural healing that originated in India more than 5,000 years ago.

The word Ayurveda comes from two Sanskrit words:

  • Ayu = Life
  • Veda = Knowledge

Together, Ayurveda means “The Knowledge of Life.”

Ayurveda focuses on maintaining balance within the body, mind, and spirit through natural therapies, healthy living, proper nutrition, herbal medicine, and therapeutic treatments. It aims not only to treat illness but also to prevent disease and promote long-term well-being.

What is Panchakarma?

Panchakarma is one of Ayurveda’s most powerful detoxification and rejuvenation therapies.

The Sanskrit word Panchakarma means:

“Five Actions” or “Five Therapeutic Procedures”

These cleansing therapies remove accumulated toxins from the body, restore balance to the three Doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), improve digestion, strengthen immunity, and support optimal health.

Panchakarma is recommended both for disease prevention and for restoring health in cases of chronic imbalance.

Students will gain practical knowledge of traditional Panchakarma principles and therapeutic applications used in Ayurvedic wellness centers and clinics.
